a very nice and hard to find U.S. WWI Field Medic Pouch, as issued by the Hospital Corps. It is a nice khaki canvas pouch, with leather trim, and leather front closure strap. It is marked with a medic "Red Cross", metal plate and is marked with the Caduceus next to US. 1. The underside of the top flap is marked HOSPITAL CORPS POUCH., and gives a full list of the contents that should be in the pouch. It also indicates it was made by The Manhattan Supply Co., New York, N. Y. in May 1903. This pouch was doubtless still in service when WWI broke out.
