NASA Space Flight Medal

The medal has a small metal finger projection at the top center attached to a suspension ring. The ribbon tapers to the ring. The ribbon colors are blue, red, black, red, aquamarine, red, black, red, blue. The pin and clasp is a slip-on style.

The obverse rim of the planchet is formed in the shape of a wreath with an unrolled scroll across the middle. In the foreground is a triangle with a space shuttle in the center. Below the triangle is the "worm" style NASA logo. The reverse is stamped "Space Flight Medal"

The NASA Space Flight Medal is awarded to any astronaut, American foreign, who flies aboard a United States Space mission.
