Vietnam radio set RT-175A / PRC9

Frequency range is 27-39 MHz, FM (F3), 1 W. VFO-tuning and a crystal calibrator stage giving 4,3 MHz checkpoints. In the receiver-part we find 2 RF-stages, 4 IF stages, a discriminator FM-detector with 2 germanium diodes, a squelch-circuit and a pulse sweep generator to control the transmit frequency. At the top we find all controls and connectors for the headset and 3 antennas: long whip AT271, short whip AT-272, and a ca. 50 ohm BNC-connector. The set was designed for field use with a 3,65 kg multi-voltage battery BA-279, or for vehicular use with a 24 volts PSU and audio-amplifier AM-598. All tubes, exept the noval 5A6, are of Special Quality subminiature B5A type. The factory aligned complete IF circuits, including the mini-tubes, are housed in sealed metal cans with B7G-pins, as well as the discriminator-circuit and the pulse sweep generator.not tested
