The story goes that when shooting the original Indiana Jones film the costume department went shopping to an Army surplus store in London and bought a few MKVII gas masks bags and the one that he used was stamped W & G ltd. We have some original (W & G Ltd) Waring and Gillow Limited bags in near new, unissued condition. Short History of Waring and Gillow During WW1 the Lancaster factory was turned over to war production, making ammunition chests for the royal Navy and propellers for aircraft and during WW2 produced parts for gliders and the Mosquito aircraft, while bags, tents and camouflage nets were made by the Upholstery department
