Russia - Map/Dispatch Case WW2

Map/dispatch cases were issued on a limited basis to specifically designated personnel such as unit commanders, messengers, and observers. The map/dispatch cases were issued with assorted map reading tools, instruments and accessories. The leather interior of the case has two compartments with a central separating panel. The map case is in complete condition, the map case is constructed of simulated leather material, it is showing clear traces of usage and small damages caused by usage. The map case is nicely marked, the markings are however hard to read. This map case has been used during the war by a German officer who wrote his name inside the map case.
