Stamped white medal five-pointed faceted star with loop for ribbon suspension; the face with a circular central medallion with gilded stippled ground, the flag of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam (Vietcong) in red, gold and blue enamel centrally, inscribed on a ribbon below ‘CHIÊŃ SĨ GIA’I PHÓNG’ (Soldier of the People’s Army); the reverse plain; on original pentagonal 1st , 2nd and 3rd class ribbon mounted for wear. The Order was instituted in three classes on 6 July 1966 to be awarded to soldiers of the Vietcong fighting in South Vietnam.
