Kaartentas No 2 MK 1 met draagriem (General Service Map Case No2 Mk 1 Emergency Pattern)

Tan/khaki webbed canvas case, approximately 23cm x 23cm, whose top fold-over flap covers the entire forward surface of the case. Two brass snaps are to the base of this forward flap, which mate with brass studs to a narrow horizontal flap proceeding from the base reverse. To the top reverse are two extended tabs with brass buckles sewn to the ends of each. Original shoulder strap is still attached. Sewn to the interior face of the large fold-over flap is one large and four narrow pockets, for pens, etc. "RP Ltd, 1944" is ink-stamped along the forward interior edge of this flap along with a "broad arrow" marking. The main body of the case is comprised of a yellowed piece of celluloid reinforced along its edge with webbing, which expands, accordion-like, from the back of the case. Inserted into the opened top is a stiff brown which serves as the shape-retaining backing. Nice clean case.
