Mora in Sweden is known for knife making that dates back to Medieval times. In the small village of Östnor (2 miles west of the Mora) the cottage industry of clock and sewing machine production (1700s and early 1800s) paved way for knife making on an industrial scale. In particular, it was Frost-Erik Ersson's establishment of the small Erik Frost factory in 1891 that led to a new era in knife production.
