The pants are made of the so-called 'grove-stof', this is the fieldgrey woolen cloth used to manufacture the combat tunics. These pants are made of the new colour fieldgrey wool as used untill the mobilisation period of 1939/1940. The pants are nicely CM (Centraal Magazijn) marked, the date is hard to read. The pants are marked with the 'O' (Onberedenen) intended fo regular infantry personnel. The pants are in good used condition with normal traces of usage, there are a few small moth damages and one larger moth damage, there is some staining (paint?) on the back, see photos. Dutch combat tunics are very scarce, due to the fact that the German Army recycled almost all of it. This pair of pants has been reissued in the German army as well, they slightly modified the bottom of the trouser legs by adding buttons and buttonholes, see photos. This will not be visible in display on a mannequin showing a Dutch combat set-up, the puttees will cover this part of the pants.
