The badge in this form was adopted shortly after the occupation of Berlin in 1945. By May 1946 this was 130th Independent Infantry Brigade and by February 1948 the troops were called the Berlin Brigade (2 Royal Scots Fusiliers, 1 Royal Norfolk, 1st Worcesters, one Sqn. 11 Hussars). By December 1949 the Berlin Brigade name may have been dropped and the force simply known as British Troops Berlin (Sqn. Royal Dragoons, 1 Gordon Highlanders, 1 Royal Fusiliers, 1 R. Welch Fusiliers). The badge changed again in 1952 by the addition of a tab bearing in red the name 'BERLIN'. By April 1953 the force comprised 1st Independent Sqn. Royal Tank Regiment, 1 King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, 1 Royal Irish Fusiliers, 1 Royal Scots Fusiliers.
