Formation patch G.H.Q Middle East Overseas Forces

This is the first pattern of badge for this Command, adopted in the latter part of 1947. The badge derives from the WW2 vehicle sign for GHQ MEF, a brown or gold camel on a black square. During the war GHQ MEF personnel did not wear a distinguishing badge on uniform. Second pattern badge was a lion rampant with crown above on a red over blue shield
