France - Early Pre WW2 Aviators Helmet Circa 1939 -1940

scarce example of the French Hard crown flying helmet as being used in the early years of WW2. A hard leather covered crown shell with lower soft padded leather flaps to hold Gosport tubes or radio earphones. To the rear are press stud goggle straps and a laced leather liner system for size adjustment .Internal leather 8 tongue sweatband .As used during the 1930s and into the early part of WW2 by the French Air Force, Free French and Paratroop units
