Dutch 'Kepie' (Buitenmodel). This kepi was part of the 'buitenmodel' tunic, these tunics were privately purchased tunics in field blue-grey woolen cloth. Soldiers who were not able to buy a complete tunic often bought only the kepi. This is a corporal rank kepi, recognizable by the double blue coloured piping. The blue coloured piping is indicating that this kepi belonged to a soldier within an Infantry Regiment. The kepi has a metal lion attached to the front. The leather sweatband is in good condition, the cap is not visible maker marked, it is size '59'. Unfortunately there is some small moth damage, see photos. Nice original kepi in good used condition
