Tatigkeits Abzeichen LW Segelflieger-Abzeichen (LW Trade badge Civil Glidings class C)
The International Aeronautical Federation, a pre-WWII organization, awarded a series of proficiency badges to glider pilots on their successful completion of the appropriate tests and gliding trials. Originally, these awards were constructed of alloy with enamel work, however, in 1933, the German civil glider clubs introduced a cloth version to be worn on the left breast. The "C" class certificate was awarded for the completion of a five minute solo flight without loss of altitude.
