V. was started by Hermann Goring in 1937 as the only government-controlled competitive shooting organization. The medal is a wreathed eagle hanging from a bar: bar is in brilliant green enamel and shows two rifles crossed in front of a target at its center

The medal shows some light wear and tarnish; all enamel is intact.
