The Westwall medal was instituted by Adolf Hitler on 2 August 1939 for military personnel, and civilian employees, who assisted in the planning and construction or defence of the German fortifications on the western border of Germany. The medal is a nice 'Buntmetall' example, complete with its original 19cms long sized ribbon and pouch of issue. The pouch is nicely maker marked by the company of 'Carl Poellath' in Schrobenhausen. Nice set in very good condition!
