SHAPE badge (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe). It was worn by U.S. Army Personnel in Germany or other Allied forces Personnel, specifically those associated with the Allied Forces Central Europe, established as part of the peace keeping operations after WWII. This pin has a crest that was adopted by Headquarters AFCE (Allied Forces Central Europe) in January 1954. The motto, "In Scelus Exsurgo Sceleris Discrimina Purgo" is stamped into the metal around the crest. Roughly translated means: "I rise up against wickedness, I cleanse the danger of the wicked." It was made out of mixed metals, with a porcelain inlay. It comes with a leather backing, that can be attached to a button.
