Revers insigne RAF (post WW2)

The motto of the RAF, Per Ardua ad Astra (Through Adversity to the Stars), sums up the Air Force spirit. After its formation in 1918, when the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Naval Air Service were merged, the new RAF was keen to foster this spirit.
