Cap badge Saskatoon Light Infantry (M.G.), 1st Canadian Infantry Division

The Saskatoon Light Infantry (M.G.) was mobilised with the C.A.S.F on the 1st of Sept 1939, embarking for the United Kingdom on 8 Dec 1939. They took part in the Sicily Landings on the 13th of July 1943, as part of the 1st Canadian Infantry Division. On 3 Sep 1943 they landed in Italy then moved to North-West Europe on 4 Mar 1945, being disbanded on the 15 Oct 1945. Except three cannon companies which had joined the Canadian Army Pacific Force, on the 1st of June 1945, who were disbanded on the 1st of November 1945.
